I thought the price was very high, but it was a good book. I also have to say. More practical examples would be nice, this is more of an engineering theory book than a nuts an bolts book.

The book itself is fine. However, the first copy that arrived had close to 50 pages torn out. Returned that one and received a copy with 40 pages torn out. In summary, don't by used lab manuals online.

I purchased the e-book first, then copies of the paperback for friends after I'd read it. It's not like reading a self-help book or most nonfiction - it is like listening to someone you know who's been through something and came out the other side because he really worked at it, not just because he outlasted the illness, dis-eases or problem. Most people I know with Crohn's just sort of stay there...most people I know with anything sort of just accept it, live with it and even feed it. This book is about saying "hey...I don't have to accept this" I can change my life.

Not only does it tell you his story with a view into his family as a child and an adult in a way anyone could relate to, but he lays out some very basic and super helpful meditation tips at the end (that will quite honestly work for other physical problems too - headaches, etc.) Our mind controls and influences so much of our physical and not always in a good way if we don't step in and take some responsibility. Then chose to do the work (that is the hard part - your homework after you read this).

It was a thoughtful read, well done. I highly recommend it - to anyone with or without Crohn's to read (just imagine your own malady where you see the words Crohn's Colitis - open your mind).

This book totally changed my mind on IBD. It put me in the right direction for healing using my mind. I've tried healing with food, vitamins but nothing compared to using my mind has worked. Game changer!I finally have the missing link to my healing.I love the book so much and feel it would serve anyone looking for true healing using your mind....IT WORKS!Thank You!

I really enjoyed this book. I suffer from ulcerative colitis myself and this book has really opened up a "new world of healing" for me. Our mental state is definitely connected to our physical state, which the author is obvious proof of. I've talked to him on skype several times now and can for sure tell you that he is legitimate, extremely helpful and kind. I would recommend this book to anyone suffering from any stomach problem really (especially IBD and IBS though) since it includes helpful guides and tools to change our mental state in order to improve the physical.

About the Author
Imani True has been writing all of her life. She wrote her first erotic story in 2007, and was fortunate to team up with Dreama Skye a year later. Strawberries, Stilettos, and Steam is their first collaboration. Even though Imani has lived on the West Coast for over fifteen years, she still considers herself a Native New Yorker at heart. When she's not writing, Imani keeps busy with a traditional 9 to 5, preparing for the day when her writing pays the bills. Her dream is to write on the beaches of Hawaii or in the Caribbean. Ms. True is currently working on several novels and a few screenplays with her son. Her work can also be read in Between the Sheets, published by Delphine Publications. Another collection with Dreama Skye is already in the works.

Dreama Skye knew she was destined to be a writer from the moment she held a pen in her hand. She has been writing erotic poetry since 1998. She has focused her writing into erotic-themed stories in more recent years. Fate and destiny collided when Dreama met Imani True. Dreama was born in the beautiful bluegrass state of Kentucky where she currently resides with her two lovely daughters. Ms. Skye is currently working on a volume of erotic poetry and her first novel, as well as another collection with Imani True. More Soft Core, Less Story

Strawberries, Stilettos and Steam by Imani True and Dreama Skye is a collection of erotic shorts. The book starts off with a woman about to slip into a hot bubble bath with a glass of champagne and a bowl of strawberries beside the tub....all in front of a webcam. She opens a package that she received earlier in the day that included a book that just so happens to be Strawberries, Stilettos and Steam, and she proceeds to read. There's a story about a student that attends classes online and just so happens to to get it on while class is in session; A woman who is bi-curious and meets someone online to quench her fantasy; A young man in college notices his best-friend's mother who is bound and determined to show him he's not a little boy anymore; A masked man that is going around climbing in the window of the women in the courthouse and sexing them; a cop that fantasizes about her partner and many more.

Strawberries, Stilettos and Steam by Imani True and Dreama Skye was just okay...nothing more, nothing less. The first story in the book called "Detour" had a lot of conflicting scenes, not to mention the story with the courthouse. If a good developmental editor would have read these stories, they would have surely caught what I am referring to. There are also some editing issues, and the sex scenes were not as descriptive as they could have been. Saying they had sex for hours is not telling me exactly what they did in that time frame. There also seemed to be more girl on girl sex than any other stories. I understand that erotic is supposed to be heavily laced with sex but with a story. Unfortunately, Strawberries, Stilettos and Steam lacked the story and went straight to soft core porn.

I went through a gamut of feelings: from shy (making that phone call in 'Turned On, Turned Out'), to aroused (and wet) wanting Shade to call me in 'Pussy Dreams'! The prologue had me hooked from "web cam on"! The book is hot, spicy, and left me creaming-and wanting more!

If you are squeamish about lesbian adventures, this is not the book for you. If you are curious and want to know more, I highly recommend picking yourself up a copy. Your thirst for knowledge will be aptly quenched.

A pedagogically superb textbook

This text is unique in that it provides a rigorous introduction to quantum field theory in a way that is extremely scrupulous to make the instruction as straightforward and painless as possible. It would be suitable for an upper-level undergraduate course or a first graduate course in QFT. The author does a nice job of explaining the logic of second quantization and the difference between quantum field theory and relativistic quantum mechanics. The presentation of the Schrodinger, Heisenberg and Interaction pictures and their interrelations is very well done. I found his introduction to Feynman diagrams to be outstanding--the transition from the detailed mathematical derivations to the diagrams themselves is the clearest I have seen in any QFT text available today. Also the discussion of renormalization is first-class. His treatment follows the traditional approach, leaving the development of path-integrals to more advanced texts, although his addendum on Path Integrals is a very nice introduction to the subject. All-in-all this is a very fine introduction to QFT and, as a physics professor myself, I recommend it highly both for formal courses and for self-study.

This book is perfect for getting started with QFT!

While (many or most?) other books have a daunting “mathematical compression factor“ this book presents the theory ground up with each and every step in computations.
You won't see “a short computation shows“, or “one sees immediately“ etc.

In order to not get lost in details the author helps with frequent “big pictures“, “wholeness charts“, margin notes and summaries so the reader is always aware of the story line.
Basic material that the reader should know (but often fails to recollect in the proper way) is presented in boxes when needed.
In total this book is so comprehensive and understandable that it is even perfectly suited for self-study (that's what I did after being out of physics for years).

This book is what you need for getting a sound foundation for studying advanced topics in QFT.

Finally a REAL Introduction

After attempting to learn from several QFT textbooks, I came to realize that there were innumerable occasions when the authors seemed to gloss-over completely new/unfamiliar concepts because they apparently regarded them as "trivial" or "obvious." But what seemed trivial to them often left me scratching my head, trying to logically tie one equation to the next and arrive at their conclusion. Most books also tend to omit tedious, yet fundamental, calculations that would be a real pain for a new student to try to work out.

I started with the classics ("Peskin and Schroeder," "Bjorken and Drell"), but they seemed to almost require previous knowledge of QFT to make any sense of them, as if they were intended more as an encyclopedia than an introduction to a new subject. I tried Zee's book next, but realized that his unconventional approach (teaching the path integral formulation before the canonical formulation) made it very hard to simultaneously learn from other texts. He also tends to be sloppy with his math, and often left me more confused than anything. The closest I got to a good introduction was Srednicki's book, but it too was hard to follow at times.

By chance I stumbled across Klauber's website and read the first chapter of his book, expecting to be left confused as usual. To the contrary, what I had been struggling to understand for months suddenly snapped into place. I immediately read the rest of the free chapters, and when I finished those I ordered the book as soon as it appeared on amazon.

I've heard it said a dozen or so times that QFT has an extremely steep learning curve, even after coming out of a QM course, and that it often requires the simultaneous use of many different textbooks. It appears as if this is no longer the case, because Klauber has achieved what others apparently couldn't: a REAL introductory text that doesn't leave large and confusing gaps.

In acutaping, an elastic cotton tape, known to many people as kinesio tape, is placed over painful muscles or joints to provide support, relieve pain, and improve lymph drainage, while encouraging full freedom of motion. When a muscle is inflamed or swollen, the space between the skin and the muscle becomes compressed, irritating the muscle’s pain receptors. A GREAT basic guide for applying tape!

I am a formerly Certified KinesioTaping Practitioner. I teach an informal KinesioTaping class through community education, and always bring this book as a recommended favorite for the lay person. KinesioTape was originally created for lay people to use on themselves, and this book is a GREAT guide for basic applications. Yes, taking an official class is always best and you will learn some nuances for taping the most efficiently by taking a class, but you will still get decent results by following this book. I like how it combines KinesioTaping with acupressure meridians (which, I have found, does work). I like the pictures showing you not only how to apply the tape, but what position to have the body in while applying the tape. It is a GREAT basic guide.

Simple Technique Good Illustrations

Written by 2 doctors who obviously know a thing or two about TCM, Acupressure Taping is a very well-designed and illustrated book showing a non-invasive technique to relieve pain by stretching a length of adhesive tape over the affected area. From the start, the authors distinguish between kinesio-taping from acutaping. It puzzles me that many of the reviewers here have failed to tell the difference.

As the name suggests, acutaping involves the placement of the tape along acupuncture meridians. Thus, the authors stress that acutaping involves knowledge of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The brief introduction to the basics of TCM is probably more confusing than enlightening. Since the purpose of the book is not go into mind-boggling concepts of Yin & Yang, Five Elements, Internal/External Organs and Six Evils, it would have been better to go straight into acupuncture meridians and show their pathways clearly on the human body.

The authors go on to list the indications, contraindications and caveat. Then, they bring us on a sightseeing tour around the human body. As in acupuncture, bony and muscular landmarks must be recognised. After that, the book goes straight into technique with some very good illustrations on different parts of the body of a female model.

As an acupuncturist myself, I'm eager to use this non-invasive technique, but clinical experience shows that it has limited efficacy for any degree of pain/discomfort that won't go away with aspirin. I would only use it prophylactically or as a follow up to acupuncture sessions.

Nevertheless, for those who are not trained or qualified to insert needles, it may serve a useful adjunct to professional management. Just don't expect it to work for anything more than mild discomfort. I have serious doubts about acutaping working for for diarrhoea, sinusitis, tinnitus and menstrual cramps.

Very disappointing!

Like the other low rated reviews this book was very disappointing. As a massage therapist in the medical field I was hoping to learn more about taping for chronic and acute pains. I know some taping methods and was hoping to learn more but not with this book. I am not really into energy work and this book is all about it.
