2nd Printing MUCH CHEAPER than this 1st Printing

I have purchased the same(7th) edition of this title and found it to be very helpful. I have traveled and lived in several countries and once considered marrying a woman from another country as well. The many questions and assumptions regarding citizenship, residence and passports is brought into focus in the first part of the book. The latter part has a very extensive list of countries and their own policies and procedures for obtaining residence or a passport. The list is not complete, however, and may disappoint someone who has a very specific foreign country in mind. I would recommend most purchase the Second Printing of this same edition at a much lower cost (approx. $50-$60) which is also available here on Amazon. It is distributed from the Sovereign Society where Mr. Bauman works as a Legal counsel and writing contributor.

Even if Farinella’s artwork is pretty crude, the fact that he and coauthor Roš are bona fide PhD-holding neuroscientists assures that they know what they’re talking about. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, they depict the adventures of a young man who, by means of a pretty girl reading a book, falls into what seems to be a forest but is actually the brain. There he meets a couple of Nobel laureate scientists who explain brain morphology to him before sending him into a neuron, where more top researchers elucidate brain pharmacology. After inadvertently overindulging there, he plunges into a cell and, thereby, brain electrophysiology. Further episodes acquaint him with plasticity and synchronicity in the brain before he is reunited in an epilogue with the pretty girl. This series has possibilities, but there is a lot of groundwork that has to take place. In an effort to avoid the usual, much effort is made to come up with new expressions. Example: visage instead of face. Variety may be the spice of life, but the end result of this is a stilted, artificial presentation.
When will authors learn that badly is an adverb and not an adjective. If you're unhappy or ill, you feel bad. If you feel badly your fingers are probably frozen and are not sensitive to feeling. After having someone say he feels "badly" three times in two sentences, the author has the other character tell him "Don't feel bad." Go figure.
The conversations between characters do not ring true. Everyone speaks the same as everyone else. There doesn't have to be a character using bad language for differentiation, but it would be nice if individual personalities came through with a little variety.

It's not terrible but it's not good. You can finish the book quickly which is good, but it repeats nearly the same thing over and over. It could really be a 40 or 50 page short story.

This book has it all, murder, love, and mystery. Sara Robbins characters are interesting and like able. The plot has twists which are not straightened until the very end. Great read.

Engaging stories about words! The author picked 25 distinct root words to visualize a host of untold stories. Inspirational and worth the time spent. As the author outlines, you will learn the easy way to memorize new words- by relating to the story of the word, how it originated.

The same time, the word explanations are done in a distinct direction. Here's a random paragraph I pulled to explain how the author does that. Love the way it is done.

Trivia-tastic!

This book is jam packed with interesting information!

I like how it tells you a root word and then elaborates from there, how things got their names and why. My favorite was definitely the origination of the word duke and the coin ducats. I have a lot of interest in the Regency time period- so that was really fascinating for me.

This book is a great read to expand your vocabulary or just for anyone wanting to learn interesting bits of trivia to share with your friends.

Each root word and it's accompanying story is short, so it holds your attention and ends before you start to get overwhelmed.

All in all this is a great book, and I am glad I stumbled across it. I will be looking for more interesting trivia from this author.
